Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani warned regional states of Washington's attempts to blackmail them by portraying Tehran as a threat.
"The US intends to blackmail regional states through claims that it has imposed sanctions against Iran in their support. They [the US] seek to make the Zionist regime [of Israel] dominate over these miserable countries," Larijani said, addressing an open session of the Majlis in Tehran on Sunday, Fars News Agency reported.
Referring to Iran's large stocks of indigenous weapons and military equipment displayed in different drills, Larijani said this is not tolerable for the powers, especially the US, as it has for years plundered regional states by suggesting that they are facing Iran's danger and coaxing them into purchasing US-made weapons.
