Iran’s box-office revenues exceeded 610 billion rials ($5.19 million) this summer, thanks to a strong offering of a comedy: Centipede.
Twenty-two movies were screened through the summer of 2018 as the average ticket sales of 21 stood at 12 billion rials ($102,127), totaling 260 billion ($2.21 million).
The highest-grossing movie of the year “Centipede” sold more than 350 billion rials ($2.97 million).
“The Lost Strait” and “Woman's Enemy” came in a distant second and third respectively, yielding around 40 billion rials ($340,425) each, the Persian daily Donya-e-Eqtesad reported.
