Banana Imports Hit $176m in Four Months

More than 180,706 tons of fresh and dried bananas worth $176 million were imported into Iran during the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 21-July 22).

This marks a 22.6% and 2% decline in weight and value respectively compared with the similar period of last year, the latest figures released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration show.

This amount of banana imports accounted for 1.56% and 1.16% of the volume and value respectively of Iran’s total imports over the period under review, Mehr News Agency reported.
