Iran traded 3.47 million tons of non-oil commodities worth $1.77 billion with Iraq during the first three months of the current fiscal year (March 21-June 21), registering a 1.12% and 9.11% growth in tonnage and value respectively compared with last year’s corresponding period,
Financial Tribune’s data analysis based on the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration’s latest report indicates.
Exports to Iraq stood at 3.45 million tons worth $1.76 billion, up 1.11% and 10.09% in tonnage and value respectively year-on-year.
The neighboring country was Iran’s third biggest export destination during the period. Iran mainly exported evaporative coolers, plastic sheets, tomatoes and metal/steel bars to Iraq during the three-month period.
Iraq exported 16,143 tons of goods worth $3.64 million to Iran, up 4.55% in tonnage and down 79.4% in value respectively YOY.
Iraq was the 63rd major exporter of goods to Iran in the three months. Imports mainly included aluminum, battery waste and aluminum alloy.
