IRGC: 3 Terrorists Killed Near Western Border

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) attacked a terrorist team in Iran’s western province of Kermanshah, killing three intruders.

The “anti-revolutionary terrorists” had planned sabotage attacks after crossing the border into Iran near Kermanshah, the Guard said in a statement carried by IRNA.

IRGC Ground Forces detected and chased the terrorists, killed three of them in a gunfight and wounded one, the statement added.

One of the local members of Basij (voluntary) forces was also martyred in the operation, it noted.

The statement added that ammunition and military equipment were confiscated.

Last month, the Guard said it had killed nine militants during a security operation in a border area almost 300km (190 miles) to the north.

Protecting the northwestern and southeastern borders is among the functions of the Guard.
