A training jet of the Iranian Air Force crashed in the southeastern province of Sistan and Balouchestan on Wednesday, injuring two. According to a statement released by the Army, the two pilots ejected before the crash. Nobody was killed, the statement added. A local medical official in Chabahar told Tasnim News Agency that the jet crashed in a mountainous area at around 10:15 am local time. Two people suffered injuries in the incident, one to his leg and the other to his neck, the medic added. In May 2016, a MiG-29 fighter jet had to make an emergency landing at a military airport in the western city of Hamedan, during which one of the pilots was killed and the other suffered vertebral injury. In July of the same year, a Sukhoi Su-24 warplane of the Air Force crashed near Lake Bakhtegan in the southern province of Fars, but the two pilots ejected safely before the Russian-built jet went down.
