Fig Exports at 11,000 Tons

About 50,300 tons of figs were produced in Iran during the last Iranian year (ended March 20, 2018), of which 11,000 tons were exported.

Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture reported the above, citing data released by the Statistical Center of Iran and the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration.

Vietnam, the UAE and Japan with 9,834, 152 and 138 tons of purchases respectively were the top three export destinations for Iranian figs.

Figs were cultivated on over 15,200 hectares of orchards across the country last year with the provinces of Fars in the southwest, Lorestan in the northwest and Kerman in the southeast being the biggest producers of the fruit.
