President Hassan Rouhani has written to the leaders of France, Germany and Britain “to clearly express his demands and views on the nuclear deal,” his chief of staff, Mahmoud Vaezi, said on Wednesday. He did not reveal the details of the letter, but said “it is in line with the policies of the ruling establishment if the negotiations [to salvage the deal] fail,” Dolat.ir reported. Iran and the five remaining signatories to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action are trying to salvage the historic deal after President Donald Trump announced last month that he was withdrawing and would reimpose sanctions on Iran.
