Shazand Gasoline Output at 16.5 ml/d

In line with efforts to boost the country's oil refining output, Imam Khomeini (Shazand) Refinery's Euro-4 gasoline production capacity has reached 16.5 million liters per day, the refinery’s managing director said. "The refinery's gasoline output level ranged between 8-12 ml/d till a month ago. However, the overhaul of some units has put the refinery on full swing and increased its output to 16.5 ml/d," Alireza Amin was quoted as saying by Shana on Saturday. "To accomplish the goal, five refining units were totally overhauled in less than a month," he added. The units had stopped working due to technical problems, but they were renovated and went on stream in late May. "Plans have been devised to overhaul the aging refinery in two other phases … Each phase includes four-six refining units," Amin said. If the prospective plans are implemented, the refinery's output can exceed 20 ml/d. Producing gasoline compliant with Euro-5 and Euro-6 emission standards is also high on the Arak Refinery agenda.
