    Addiction Treatment Should be Separate

The Drug Control Headquarters (DCH) is opposed to the plan to integrate drug addiction treatment in the general healthcare system. Deputy Director of DCH Alireza Jazini said the plan would be a ‘’ waste of professional health workers’’ who possess valuable experience in the area of addiction treatment.  There are now 5,700 drug treatment professionals active and their integration with general medical services “will be a loss for healthcare system at large,” he said quoted by ISNA.
