An exhibition of artworks by veteran Japanese artist Chiba Myamato is underway at Farzaneh Ceramic House in north Tehran until Thursday.
The event is a selection of Myamato’s tile works, ceramic dishes and paintings, Iranart.ir reported on its Persian website.
The artist has so far held several exhibitions in Iran, including her painting exhibition last year on scenery of Gilan Province at Kuchebagh Gallery in the village of Gurabjir.
Myamato, who has lived in Iran for 12 years, talked in an earlier interview with Honaronline about the influence of her stay in the country on her works. “My paintings were usually dark and pessimistic. Perhaps this had something to do with the Vietnam War, but gradually they (the paintings) became cheerful.”
“Kashan was the place I first visited. Its wonderful nature inspired me to paint the beauty of the city. That’s how the darkness in my works was gradually replaced with the beauty of light.”
The gallery is at No. 23, Jebeli Street at the end of Jahanshahi Street, Niavaran neighborhood.
