A stage reading of the play ‘Waiting for Godot’, written by Irish avant-garde novelist, playwright, theater director, poet, and literary translator Samuel Beckett, will be held at Nasser Khosrow Theater Hall on April 25.
With the 1953 play, Beckett popularized the Theater of Absurd, a form of drama that emphasizes the absurdity of human existence by employing disjointed, repetitious, and meaningless dialogue, purposeless and confusing situations, and plots that lack realistic or logical development.
In the play two characters, Vladimir and Estragon await the coming of someone named Godot who never arrives. While waiting, they engage in a variety of discussions and encounter three other characters.
According to Tiwall, the stage reading is directed by Mohammad Erfan Ahmadi who will also read one of the roles along with Sina Narimani, Javad Eshvarnejad and Mehdi Eslampour.
The venue is located at the third floor of 16th Azar Clinic, next to Molavi Theater, 16th Azar Street, Enqelab Street.
