Iraq wants to "keep away" from the conflict between Iran and the United States, said Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi. Baghdad wants to maintain a "balance" in its relations with Washington and Tehran, he told a recent energy conference in Baghdad, explaining that this policy was in Iraq's interest, Reuters reported. "I'm keeping away from it," he said, referring to the tension between Iran and the US. Abadi also expressed hope that the international deal on Iran's nuclear program would be maintained by Washington, which has threatened to exit it if "flaws" in the landmark agreement are not fixed.
