54 Injured in Sarpol-Zahab Quake

A magnitude 5.3 earthquake jolted the city of Sarpol-Zahab in Kermanshah Province on Sunday, leaving 54 injured.  Tremors were felt in neighboring cities, including Gilangharb and Qasr-e Shirin, ISNA reported.  According to Reza Mahmoudian, director of crisis management at Kermanshah Governorate, all the victims were released after outpatient treatment in hospitals.  The region has been host to successive quakes recently, the greatest of which was a magnitude 7.3 earthquake that shook Kermanshah and neighboring Iraq in November, killing more than 600 people and injuring over 8,000. Only hours later, a more moderate tremor shook Damavand County of Tehran Province, but there were no casualties.
