About 302,000 tons of non-oil products worth $840 million have been exported from Markazi Province since the beginning of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2017), indicating a 27% and 9% growth in tonnage and value respectively compared with last year’s corresponding period.
Jafar Asghari, the deputy head of Markazi Province Industries, Mining and Trade Organization, also told IRNA on Monday that the exports were worth $624 per ton on average.
“The commodities, mainly including petrochemical products, aluminum ingot, asphalt, glass, polyester, meat, cement, plants and carpet, were shipped to 73 countries,” he added.
Asghari said Afghanistan with 39%, Turkey with 23%, Iraq with 17%, Pakistan with 7% and Turkmenistan with 2% had the biggest share of Markazi Province’s exports.
Markazi is one of the 31 provinces of Iran.
