Hotel room rental fees will not see an increase until September 2018, the head of Iranian Hoteliers Association said.
According to Jamshid Hamzehzadeh, not only will not accommodation prices go up until the end of the upcoming summer, but also hotels in a number of provinces are expected to offer significant discounts on booking fees, ISNA reported.
Based on the recent amendments to hotel pricing policies, hotels are allowed to raise booking fees only once a year in mid September, the official noted.
Although travel inside Iran is ironically as expensive, if not more, as the trips made to regional countries, such measures can contribute to the development of the domestic market.
Following an agreement between IHA and Iran's Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization, hotels in Tehran, East Azarbaijan, Chaharmahal-Bakhtiari, Kohgilouyeh-Boyerahmad, Khorasan Razavi and Fars provinces will offer 30 to 70% markdowns on room prices during Norouz, the Iranian New Year holidays (March 21-April 2).
