Four Iranian boxers are in the quarterfinals of the 69th International Boxing Tournament ‘Strandja’ in Sofia, Bulgaria, February 18-26.
Seven boxers from Iran attended the games four of whom won their matches on Feb. 22 and qualified for the next phase of the tournament, Varzesh3 reported.
Reza Soleimanfard in the 52kg class, Sajjad Kazemzadeh in 69kg, Shahin Mousavi of 75kg and Salar Gholami in 91kg are in the quarterfinals.
The last of the Iranian boxers, Seyyed Dana Esmaeilzadeh will go into the ring against an Indian opponent to test his mettle in the 64kg category.
Other members from the Iran squad were defeated and left the tournament which is organized by the Bulgarian Boxing Association.
