The Statistical Center of Iran in its latest report announced that the country’s population now stands at 77.7 million. The latest census conducted in 2011 indicated the population growth rate was 1.29 %, ISNA reported. The population will grow by one million annually, to increase to 80 million in 2016, it is estimated.
