The Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization will see its next year’s budget (March 2018-19) cut by 6.8% compared with the current fiscal (March 2017-18) to stand at 16.8 trillion rials ($400 million), deputy roads and urban development minister, Davoud Keshavarzian, has been quoted as saying by the ministry’s news portal. “The total budget allocated to the organization in the current year has been 17% less than the figure projected in the budget,” he added. President Hassan Rouhani presented the budget bill for the fiscal 2018-19 to the parliament last Sunday.
