    Oman Seeks Closer Regional Cooperation

Oman's ambassador in Tehran has called for closer cooperation with Iran to help address regional conflicts. "The continuation of parliamentary and political consultations between Iran and Oman could contribute to the settlement of regional crises," Saud bin Ahmad al-Barwani added in a meeting with Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, an advisor to the Majlis speaker, in Tehran on Sunday, Tasnim New Agency reported. The Omani envoy stressed the need for political approaches and dialogue for resolving regional problems. The Iranian advisor hailed Oman for its major role in the settlement of regional and international conflicts. Tehran and Muscat enjoy age-old friendly ties that have become closer after the recent agreements between the two sides to boost mutual cooperation, especially in economic fields.
