    Tehran Hosts Ibex 2017

    The 11th International Exhibition of Flour and Bakery Industry, also known as Ibex 2017, opens today (Thursday) at Tehran’s International Fairground and will run through Nov. 26. Close to 180 companies from Iran and 11 foreign countries, namely France, Turkey, Germany, Poland, South Korea, Italy, Austria, Sweden, the UK, China and the UAE, are taking part in the event. They are showcasing their latest products and services in the production of bread, flour, pastry, cakes, baking powder, food enzymes, edible emulsifiers, work apparel, lab confectionary and cafe equipment, and flour production machinery, Tasnim News Agency reported.  Iranians are the second biggest consumers of bread in the world with a per capita rate of 160 kilograms per person, which is six times higher than the global average.  Turks consume the most bread with a per capita of 199 kg annually. In France and Germany, per capita bread consumption is 56 kg and 70 kg respectively. Annual bread production in Iran stands at 15 million tons.
