SCI Puts Iran Inflation at 8%

The goods and services Consumer Price Index in the 12-month period ending September 22, which marks the end of the Iranian month of Shahrivar, increased by 8% compared with last year’s corresponding period, the Statistical Center of Iran reported.  The SCI put rural and urban inflation for Shahrivar at 7.8% and 8.9% respectively. The overall CPI (using 2011 as the base year) stood at 252.7 in Shahrivar, indicating no change compared with the previous month. The CPI for urban areas had 0.1% growth and saw a 0.6% decline in rural areas month-on-month.  The year-on-year increase was 8.1% for the whole country, 8% for urban areas and 8.3% for rural areas compared with last year’s similar month.
