Iran plans to set up an export services company in Iraq to provide legal, financial and marketing assistance to Iranian exporters to the neighboring country, said Hamid Hosseini, secretary-general of Iran-Iraq Chamber of Commerce, in a meeting with Iraq’s Ambassador to Iran Rageh Saber Abbood Al-Musawi on Wednesday. The company aims to help ease trade with the neighboring country and prevent losses to Iranian businessmen, ILNA reported. Iran’s exports to Iraq are losing momentum. Iran exported a total of 14.2 million tons of commodities worth $6.1 billion to Iran in the last fiscal year (March 2016-17), registering a 1.84% and 1.59% decline year-on-year. According to secretary of Iraq’s Desk at Trade Promotion Organization of Iran, Ebrahim Rezazadeh, Iran’s share in the Iraqi market stood at 19.7% in that year.
