‘Romance of Farhad’ (in Persian: Asheqane-e-Farhad), a musical performance of physical theater is underway at Khavaran Theater Complex. It opened August 20 and will run through September 8, starting at 9 pm, according to the website of Tiwall where tickets are available. The play and its lyrics are written by playwright Hossein Zanganeh. It is directed by Kia Salassi and is about a love affair between Khosro, Shirin and Farhad. ‘Romance of Farhad’ is based on the famous Persian tragic romance of ‘Khosrow-and-Shirin’ written by celebrated poet Nizami Ganjavi (1141-1209). Salassi has a role in the play. Other cast members are Pardis Zare, Donya Rouhani and Saeed Vafai.
