Saman Moqaddam’s ‘The Whale 2’, which has become Iran’s highest grossing film of all time, grossing over $5.42 million, is still selling at 22 cinemas. The comedy chronicles the story of Arjang (Reza Attaran) who has been in love with Roya (Mahnaz Afshar) for a long time but due to some problems cannot marry her until the age of 50, cinematicket.org reported. ‘The Whale 2’ is a sequel to Moqadam’s ‘The Whale’, a comedy released in 2015 which became the year’s second best-seller with a total sale of $2 million. Vishka Asayesh, Reza Naji, Ali Qorbanzadeh, Hesam Navab-Safavi and Sirous Gorjestani are also in the cast. Kourosh, Azadi, Mega Mall and Zendegi cineplexes as well as Iran and Shokoufeh cinemas in Tehran are currently showing the film.
