Show With Light and Color

Saless Art Gallery in Tehran has become a playground of lights.

The gallery is now home to 17 artworks by 17 artists. Prolific sculptor Qodratollah Aqeli has called the artists to join the initiative in which they play with light, Honaronline reported.

Most of the artworks on display are sculptures, using neon lights as source of illumination. The artworks are more highlighted in the dark interiors of the gallery.

Titled ‘In the Realm of Light,’ the exhibition opened August 11 and will run through August 28. Visiting hours are 10 am to 8 pm. Saless Art Gallery is located at No. 148, Karim Khan Blvd, between the streets of Iranshahar and Mahshahr.

In a statement on the event, Aqeli regards neon and color lights as the contemporary phenomena that have inspired many sculptors. Referring to lights and shadows, he said: “Emphasis on such visual elements strongly stimulates the human nervous system…preparing a context for different perceptions and imaginations.”

All participating artists are known, namely Arman Estepanian, Sadeq Tirafkan, Kambiz Sabri, Iman Safai, Mehdi Mirbaqeri, Mitra Arbab Saljouqi and Soheyl Rad. Aqeli also has presented a work.
