A nuclear negotiator said the US lack of full commitment to the 2015 nuclear agreement cannot be treated as a "blatant violation" of the landmark deal. "We reported the US bad promises to the committee that oversees the implementation of the JCPOA," Abbas Araqchi told reporters on Saturday, using the official title of the accord, the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, IRNA reported. "There is no doubt that bad promises have occurred, but we are still far from [claiming there has been] a blatant violation of the action plan," he added. Araqchi was speaking after attending an emergency meeting of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission to consider an anti-American bill in response to a new sanctions measure passed by the US Congress. The US legislation marks the latest hostile congressional move against the Islamic Republic that only needs the presidential approval to become law.
