The 11th Annual International Addiction Science Congress (ASC2017) will be held September 13-15 at Razi Conference Hall in Tehran, said Mohsen Roshan Pazhuoh, deputy of addiction prevention at the State Welfare Organization (SWO). “National physicians, psychologists and psychiatrists as well as experts from countries including the UK and US will attend the congress,” he said, IRNA reported.
Thirty panels will be held during the three-day event organized jointly by Molecular Research Center at Iran University of Medical Sciences (IUMS), SWO Addiction Prevention Office and Tehran Psychiatric Institute, affiliated to IUMS.
Addiction prevention strategies, harm reduction, positive social support, addiction control policymaking, statistics on drug addiction, using media to prevent substance abuse, rehabilitation and empowerment of drug addicts are some of the subjects to be discussed at the confab.
