Some 500,000 young people are volunteering in youth-related NGOs, said deputy minister of sports and youths affairs. “These non-governmental organizations numbered 50 in 2013, but have increased to over 1,500 under the current administration,” said Mohamamdreza Rostami at a press conference on Thursday, IRNA reported. He also pointed to the 19 Youth Houses established in 19 provinces to provide an environment for healthy interaction and cooperation among the youth as well as various services to help teenagers and young adults choose a career in life, engage in positive hobbies, and stay away from harmful and violent behavior.
