After Fars, Bushehr will be the second province to have mobile cinema, according to Seyed Mostafa Abtahi, managing director of Visual Media Institute, affiliated to the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance.
Abtahi said by the end of the current fiscal year in March, “the less privileged cities of Bushehr, Kerman and Khuzestan will join ‘Salam Cinema’ program” in which people in remote areas can enjoy movies screened by mobile cinemas, Mehr News Agency reported.
The program has also a touristic aspect, providing entertainment facilities for holidaymakers in Bushehr Province.
“Fars Province is already equipped with eight mobile cinemas and Bushehr will have five,” Abtahi said.
A total of 1,000 cities in Iran do not have cinema halls. Visual Media Institute is trying to fill the gap with the quick-launching of 100 mobile cinemas in the 30 remaining provinces, including Bushehr.
“By the end of the next fiscal year in March 2018, there will be no city without mobile cinema,” he said.
Kerman and Khuzestan will soon follow Bushehr. Provinces with cold climate will be covered after spring.
