A total of 763 people were arrested in Turkey during simultaneous operations in 29 Turkish provinces against the self-styled Islamic State terrorist group on Sunday, Turkish police forces said in a statement. According to Monday’s statement by the Ankara police headquarters, the operations were conducted as a result of long-term investigation into people and groups suspected to be in connection with conflict areas, Anadolu Agency reported. Several documents, digital material, two concealed handguns, four rifles and 372 bullets were seized, said the statement. Turkey has taken steps to crack down on IS when the terror group conducted a series of suicide bombings in the country.
