Tehran Fire Department Spokesperson Jalal Maleki said on Tuesday that the number of people trapped under the rubble of Plasco Building is not more than 25. “We have reports of 25 people missing, including 15 firefighters,” he said, according to news outlets. By Monday morning, only five bodies, including two firefighters were retrieved from under the 40,000 tons of twisted iron and concrete at the accident site. Rescue teams have cleared the southern and western sides of the site. The northern side was not damaged during the collapse, Maleki said, adding that the search and rescue operations would wrap up within the next two days.
