The commander of the navy said six new warships, which are equipped with short-range and medium-range surface-to-surface missile systems, will be unveiled on Monday, the Fars news agency reported on Friday. Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari also said three domestically overhauled anti-vessel helicopters and a new hovercraft will also join the navy on Monday. Elsewhere, he said the navy needs to do planning for building new oceangoing destroyers.
