A number of Iranian publishers were prosecuted for unauthorized insertions in textbooks, according to Seyed Hussein Talaee Zavareh, the deputy head of the Organization for Educational Research and Planning, affiliated to the Ministry of Education.
The publishers in breach had released a series of educational aid books in which excerpts were inserted in the contents and images of the curriculum without permission, and were faulty and incorrect, Mashreq News Agency (mashreghnews.ir) quoted Talaee Zavareh as saying.
He said five publishers of educational aid books were fined 500 million rials ($12,700) each and legal action taken against 20 publishers for violating intellectual property rights.
