An educational program to prevent drug abuse and suicide among school students will be implemented soon across the country, said Mansour Kiaee, director general of Social Harms Prevention Office at the Education Ministry.
The program will focus on developing life skills and congenial behavior among students. All middle school children will be covered by the program. Also, school personnel who interact more with students will be provided training to increase their awareness to identify the warning signs for suicide and drug abuse among students, ISNA reported.
Many students who attempt suicide suffer from emotional problems and substance abuse, he added.
