Iranian theater director will stage the play ‘Iceland’ written by the Canadian writer Nicolas Billon next week at Tehran’s Baran Theater.
The play has been translated by Zahra Javaheri and renowned theater director Mohammad Yaghoubi is the dramaturge, ISNA reported.
The show is about greed and passion criticizing capitalism, and with elements of humor, creates a fascinating story.
Written in 2012, ‘Iceland’ is one of the most famous works of Billon, 38, also known for his other plays ‘The Elephant Song’ and ‘Butcher’.
The play brings together three seemingly unconnected characters caught up with money and morals.
Azadeh Samadi, Fahimeh Amanzadeh and Ehsan Karami are the cast.
This is the first time the play is being staged in Iran and the performances will start from December 19 at the theater located at No 292, after Enqelab Street, Felestin Avenue.
