Members of the Central Oversight Committee were selected for the May 19 presidential elections. Abbasali Kadkhodaei, the spokesman for Guardians Council tasked with supervising elections and vetting the candidates, told Fars News Agency that seven members were named in a Wednesday session of the high-ranking body. The monitors are Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati, Ayatollah Mohammad Yazdi, Mohammad Reza Alizadeh, Mohsen Esmaeili, Siamak Rahpeyk, Ebrahim Raeisi and Kadkhodaei himself. Of the seven monitors, except for Ebrahim Raeisi, the rest are members of the Guardians Council that has a total of 12 members.
