President Hassan Rouhani voiced Tehran's enthusiasm for closer relations with Managua in a congratulatory message to Nicaragua on its independence day. In a message to his Nicaraguan counterpart, Daniel Ortega, on Thursday, Rouhani congratulated the Nicaragua government and nation on the 195th anniversary of the Central American country's Independence Day, Tasnim News Agency reported. The president hoped that mutual efforts would help boost amicable ties between the two countries in all fields. Nicaragua declared independence from Spain on September 15, 1821.
