Iran’s ambassador to Azerbaijan Mohsen Pakayeen and the rector of Baku State University Dr. Abel Maharramov met in Baku on Tuesday to explore avenues of bilateral academic and scientific cooperation.
The two nations plan to start publishing a joint academic journal, according to Pakayeen, as reported by Mehr News Agency.
Holding courses on Persian language and Iranian studies at Baku State University, training staff in new teaching methods, and joint projects in technology and nanotechnology were among other major areas discussed by the two men.
Iran’s cultural attaché, Ebrahim Ebrahimi, was also present.
Established in 1919, the BSU has two former presidents of Azerbaijan, Abulfaz Elchibey and Heydar Aliyev among its alumni.
