Three Iranian short movies made their way to the semifinals at the 39th Elche International Independent Film Festival in Spain.

Masoud Hatami’s ‘Struggle’, produced by the Tehran chapter of the Iranian Youth Cinema Society, ‘Lady With Flower Hair’ directed by Sarah Tabibzadeh and the short animation ‘What’s the Difference Between Me and a Froglet?’  by Ehsan Nasri are three Iranian works to be screened at the Spanish event slated for July 15-22, Mehr News Agency reported.

‘Struggle’ has so far won the Best Director Statuette at the Experimental Short Films section, Special Jury Prize in the international section and Art and Experience Award at the 32nd Tehran International Short Film Festival.

The festival aims to offer cultural space to filmmakers and moviegoers. The event has been selected by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of Spain for screening of candidates at the 31th Goya Awards for Best Short Film.
