Lawmaker Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh survived an assassination attempt by four gunmen in his constituency in the western province of Kermanshah on Sunday. Falahatpisheh escaped unhurt, while a local governor who was among provincial officials accompanying the legislator was wounded and his driver and a local veterinary official died of gunshot wounds, IRNA reported. The assassins opened fire on the vehicle carrying the officials and set fire to their own car before fleeing the scene.
