Iran’s egg exports have stopped since early May because Iranian producers cannot compete with their Turkish counterparts in the international markets, said the head of Tehran’s Union of Producers of Egg-Laying Chickens. Nasser Nabipour was also quoted as saying by Mehr News Agency that egg prices have fallen as a result. “To keep the market balanced, producers need to reduce production by 10% to 15%,” he said. Iran’s egg exports had halved in April after Turkey entered the international markets the month before.
