New Hospital in Amol

A 217-bed hospital opened on Thursday in Amol, Mazandaran Province, on the occasion of Eid-Al-Mab’ath, which marks the anniversary of the appointment of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to prophethood. “More than 430 billion rials ($12.4 million) was spent on constructing the hospital which has separate wards for ICU, CCU, CT scan, radiology, ultrasound and physiotherapy, as well as a laboratory research wing, said Qasem Janbabai, head of Mazandaran’s University of Medical Sciences,” IRNA reported. According to figures released by the Health Ministry, currently there are 1.2 to 1.3 beds per 1000 people in the country.
