Given the increasing rate of social harm including addiction, divorce and growth of informal settlements, “a measurement and evaluation system for social ills has been developed and will be launched in the near future,” said Anoushiravan Mohseni Bandpei, head of the State Welfare Organization (SWO), on the sidelines of a social health and welfare conference in Tehran on Tuesday.
“During the last decade the rate of the three social problems has increased significantly, and therefore we should pay more attention to our people’s social health,” IRNA quoted him as saying.
At present, for every 100 marriages 22 divorces are registered in the country. And the figure is 50 divorces for every 100 marriages in some provinces.
