Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said the purpose of the 1979 Islamic Revolution was to build an "Islamic civilization", stressing that an Islamic-Iranian model of progress needs to be developed to pave the way for creating such a civilization. Ayatollah Khamenei made the statement in a meeting with members of the high council of the Center for the Islamic-Iranian Model of Progress in Tehran on Monday, IRNA reported. "Islamic civilization does not mean expansionism, but it means Islam's influence on nations' minds," he said.
