Tejarat Bank is giving voice to environmental concerns in a new plan that includes a lending boycott on pollutant industries, expanding e-banking services, investing in public transportation projects and cutting paper usage in banks. Mohammad Ibrahim Moghaddam, Tejarat the CEO noted that his bank is concerned about the “living conditions of future generations that will depend largely on how we act today,” the bank’s website quoted him as saying at a ceremony to announce the campaign. Tejarat has also asked Kambiz Derambakhsh, a veteran graphic artist, to design logos and posters for the campaign to maximize its impact. Derambakhsh has welcomed the interest of banks in environmental protection as they are in touch with large sections of the society.
