Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei met the secretary and officials of the Supreme National Security Council in Tehran on Wednesday.
Highlighting the fundamental policies of the Islamic Revolution outlined by the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, Ayatollah Khamenei called on the powerful council to remain aligned with such policies.
"According to Imam's instructions, the people, national independence, commitment to Islamic principles, campaign against arrogant and bullying powers, Palestine, people's livelihood and attention to the needy and dealing with poverty are among the revolution's underlying policies and make up the geometry of the revolution," the Leader was quoted as saying by his official website.
“The SNSC’s decisions should be in line with the underlying policies of the revolution and … driven by a correct and pure religious and revolutionary thinking.”
Ayatollah Khamenei underlined the importance of promoting national security that forms the core of a society’s movement toward prosperity.
“Today, security is more than just a military issue and has taken on broader economic, livelihood, cultural, political, social, psychological and moral aspects … The SNSC should follow an effective and inclusive approach toward the issue of security,” he said.
