Rice Tablet Poisoning

Iranian Legal Medicine Organization (ILMO) said that during the first eight months of the current year (ends March 20) 88 people died due to aluminum phosphide (or locally known as ‘rice tablet’) poisoning. According to the ILMO, aluminium phosphide and carbon monoxide poisoning are the two top common causes of deaths by poisoning in the country, IRNA reported. ‘Rice tablet’ is used to protect stored grain, and it can cause poisoning, if ingested accidentally.
