The agriculture sector makes up 20% of Iran’s non-oil exports, 15% of GDP and 20% of employment, said the deputy head of Agricultural Research, Training and Promotion Organization. Gholamhossein Tahmasebi added that the sector also plays a significant role in the economy by meeting 85% of the country’s food demand, IRNA reported.
