    New Taxman Outlines Agenda

The completion of Iran’s Integrated Tax System and direct taxation plan, creation of financial transparency and nurturing of tax culture as well as the overhaul of Value Added Tax Law top Iran’s National Tax Administration’s agenda, says Seyyed Kamel Taqavinejad on the sidelines of his induction ceremony as the new head of ITNA last week. “Revenues earned on the back of taxation should be spent on infrastructural plans that bring about economic growth,” he said, adding that the tax office should channel its efforts on boosting strategic sectors and focus on segments trying to evade tax, IRNA reported.
